Lake Norman Elegant and Classic Living Room

With all that's been going on with the new shop and our own remodel it must seem like I stopped doing design work:)… alas, I have not and don't know if I ever could because I enjoy it so much!  Here are some pictures from an install I completed today- I am so pleased with the results and so is the client which is always a good thing!

I had a blank slate to work with which always makes it fun.  This room overlooks the lake and can you believe there was no door to the outside?  So project number one entailed turning this large window into french doors.  The second project was to give it a little character- this room was begging for a coffered ceiling and as always, my carpenter delivered!  New paint was a given, then some gorgeous furnishings and accessories and voila, you have an elegant, classy room that's not only a joy to look at, but a great place to entertain!

Stay tuned for pictures from my own remodel/addition!

Simplicity Interiors Shop Pictures

I've been meaning to post some recent pictures of the shop so everyone can see how far we've come along.  It is just the way I envisioned it - casual, coastal, rustic and of course cozy!  As I write this blog, I am sitting in one of my white slipcovered gliders with my feet propped up on an awesome round barrel coffee table with a glass of wine in hand.  It's been a gorgeous day here at the shop- 75 degrees and breezy.  The doors have been open and people have been flowing in to check us out!

Can't wait to ride my new beach bike to my yoga studio that is opening a location right down the street!

Ahhh, relaxing after a long week:)

Simplicity furniture line - a visit to my manufacturer!

Hi All,
My husband Scott (shop owner) and I took a little road trip to our furniture manufacturer last week to pick up some furniture samples for our shop and for a client.  It was very exciting to tour the plant and to see the care and love that goes into making each and every piece of furniture.  They have been constructing quality furniture for over 20 years!
Here are some pics of our plant tour:

yup, I'm a Vermont girl and dress down every chance I get:)

Most of the pieces come slipcovered or fully upholstered

All packed up and ready to ship...

Love this coastal stripe!

Our frames are constructed of 7/8" kiln dried hardwood and guaranteed for life

Being in the business for quite some time I have carried and moved around my fair share of furniture and I am here to say my furniture line is some of the best quality, heaviest furniture I have ever lifted:)  When Scott and I delivered the sofa to our client it felt like we were carrying a sleeper sofa versus just a normal size sofa.  Needless to say, after this experience of visiting the plant and toting this furniture around I am so proud to say that this is my private label furniture line....Simplicity!  Our frames have a lifetime guarantee and you can easily change the look of your sofa or chair with a new slipcover!  So stop by our shop and try it out for yourself- 100's of pre-washed fabrics to choose from!

Behind the Scenes- Better Homes & Gardens photo shoot

I've been meaning to post a few behind the scenes shots from the Better Homes & Gardens photo shoot, but haven't had the chance to do so until now.  The photo shoot took place June 2012, so that gives you an idea of how long it takes from shoot to published:)  If you missed all of my Facebook posts, one of my projects is featured in the October issue of Better Homes & Gardens!

Here are a few pics from that exciting day...

My awesome client Shana and her cute kids getting ready for their shot in the spotlight!...

It seems like ages ago that this photo shoot took place considering all that's happened with my business since then.  I am so grateful and blessed to have had the chance to work with such amazing talent on these shoots (3 of my projects and 3 assisting a very talented photo stylist!).  Another one of my projects will be shot for a national magazine this friday! - can't wait:)
Stay tuned for Cottage Style bookazine that comes out this month- My Vermont cottage project will be featured!
